Kim is the Senior Technical Director of the Gaborone Declaration for Sustainability in Africa, having previously worked as a Technical Director for Conservation International's Regional Africa Field Division office. Kim holds a PhD in Biology; the subject of her dissertation was on natural resource use in Madagascar.
Kim has published over thirty peer-reviewed publications on a range of topics including protected area management, integrated land-sea management, ocean acidification, natural capital accounting, natural resource extraction, primate conservation, ecology, and wildlife trade. She has worked and lived in a range of African countries including Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, and Madagascar. She initially joined the GDSA as a Technical Director in December 2016.
