Thabang Byl
As sales manager for Siemens Building Products he assists clients in total smart building solutions, optimising their energy efficiency and sustainability while ensuring its occupant’s safety and maximising their comfort. In South African Cities there is a heightened sense of urgency regarding the smart revolution and this is really exciting because Siemens have set themselves a high standard, and bring in all their expertise to create perfect places to further increase and secure the livability of cities, we believe that optimising energy efficiency and sustainability through smart technology can really make a difference in African Cities.

Sonia Lediga
Sonia completed her BA degree from the University of Pretoria in 2000 (majored in Psychology; Information Science; Education and History). She has also completed certificates in Project Management 2008 (Varsity College), Certificate –Program in Human Resource Management 2012 (UNISA), Certificate-Program in Applied Organisational Development 2014 (UNISA), Short course in Customer Service Management 2015 (UNISA) and is Certified as a change management practitioner through PROSCI Methodologies & Tools 2016 (PICOURSEWARE Change management centre).

Thabang Mashigo is an International Speaker, Africanist and Think Tank. She has found her niche as a Character Development Specialist, Transfor-preneur and Research consultant with expertise in the areas of Enterprise development, International Affairs and the Global political economy. She was rated as one of the Top 10 Speakers in South Africa by the City of Western Cape in 2013. She holds a graduate degree in Political Science and International Relations, an Honours degree in International Relations Thabang is the CEO of Altitude Connection, an enterprise specialising in project management, investment and research.

Dr Marco Macagnano
Prior to his appointment in Smart Real Estate Leader for South Africa and Africa Deloitte, Dr Marco Macagnano accrued 14 years of experience as an award-winning professional architect, and was named as one of Building Design + Construction’s 2018 Global 40 Under 40 in Architecture, Engineering and Construction. Marco was elected to the Board of Directors of the Green Building Council of South Africa in 2017, and is currently a member of the advisory board to the University of Pretoria( Dept. of Architecture).

Nick Mannie
Nick is a professionally registered and an internationally accredited solid waste expert and leader. He presently holds an MSc degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, he completed the Executive Development Program at London Business School and is currently completing his PhD in waste management (Circular Economy). He is an internationally recognised speaker and has published various academic papers.

Emmanuel Ekosse
Emmanuel Ekosse is a doctoral researcher at the University of South Africa’s Graduate School of Business Leadership (UNISA SBL). His current research examines the nexus of enterprise and sustainability; with particular interest in how transitions to sustainability can be initiated and accelerated in emerging markets. He has a distinct vision for the sustainable future of emerging market enterprises. A pragmatic researcher. Emmanuel is keen on data collection and qualitative analytics.
