Matshepo is a passionate waste and sustainability professional. She has expertise in behaviour change initiatives that result in sustainable living, drive community engagement and participation from all segments of the community. Matshepo has worked for several local councils in Sydney, Australia. She has led successful sustainability and resource recovery projects that have won industry awards. She is currently employed by a progressive local council with strong sustainability credentials, delivering sustainable waste and resource recovery initiatives. She previously worked for Brakpan and Ekurhuleni municipalities in South Africa, delivering local and international award-winning environmental education and awareness programmes. She has a Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Health from Tshwane University of Technology and has obtained a Master Degree in Environmental Science from the University of New South Wales. Matshepo is currently completing a Masters of Research at the University of Western Sydney. Her research focus is on engaging individuals, households and leaders from faith-based organisations to take action on climate change and building community resilience.
