Dr Thabo Greg Hlalele

Dr Thabo Greg Hlalele holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in electrical engineering from the University of Pretoria. He is registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa and as a member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers. Dr Hlalele has extensive experience in project engineering, renewable energy (wind, photovoltaic solar), techno-economic analysis of renewable energy, functional safety design and analysis (safety integrity instrumented functions of control, simulations), research electrical engineering, power electronics (modelling, Direct Current /Current Director converters, inverters, control and simulations), wind, storage (BESS), and photovoltaic resource assessment and statistics (RStudio). He now performs and manages research work related to photovoltaic and associated impacts to ensure that the set-out objectives of the research centre is executed.
