Telly Chauke

Ms. Telly Chauke is an Environmental, Social and Governance Specialist, with over 15 years’ experience in the fields of environmental governance, climate change, disaster risk management and sustainable development in the public and civil society sectors. She holds Postgraduate Degrees in Economics and Environmental Science from Rhodes University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Development Finance from the University of Stellenbosch Business School, and other sectoral qualifications in Project Management, Disaster Risk Management, Media Relations, and Public Policy Development. Prior to her appointment at the Coega Development Corporation (CDC), Ms. Chauke held the position of Specialist: Environment, Climate Change and Sustainability at the South African Local Government Association, where she spearheaded the establishment of sustainability practice in municipal infrastructure and services. Telly has also held seats on various national advisory committees and councils.

Ms Chauke is presently the Chief Sustainability Officer at the CDC, leading Coega’s transition to a Green SEZ that meets global ESG standards, complies to domestic environmental regulatory requirements and consistently maintains its certification against ISO standards for safety, health, environment, and quality.
