Mr Khetha Zulu

Mr Khetha Zulu has since 2017 been serving as the Chairperson of South African Planning Council, a statutory body regulating spatial planning for South Africa. He’s currently employed for Ray Nkonyeni Municipality as Head of Department: Development Planning Services and previously worked at the same institution as Head of Department: Strategic Planning and Governance since 2012. As the HoD he is part of the municipality’s executive managementand charged with responsibility for providing strategic leadership in the municipality with regards to the following functions: spatial planning, land use management, GIS, building control, environmental management, investment facilitation and aviation services. Prior to joining local government, he has worked at provincial and national government still focusing on town and regional planning. In addition, he has been reviewer in an accredited planning journal and presented in conferences like International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP).

His highest qualifications are aMasters Degree: Town and Regional Planning from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and a Master of Commerce: Leadership Studies from the same institution. Amongst many additional qualifications is Certificate in Thought Leadership for Africa’s Renewal with Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute.
