Michael Oloko is a senior lecturer and researcher at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST), and Coordinator; Scientific Research at Kisumu Local Interaction Platform, an organization linking researchers from academic institutions, with the community, practitioners, policy makers and other stakeholders, to address critical societal issues and promote dissemination of research findings. His current research interests include; Environmental Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, Solid Waste Management and Sustainable Utilization of Resources especially in urban areas. He has participated in research projects in various countries; Kisumu (Kenya), Managua (Nicaragua), Cape Town (South Africa) and Sao Paulo (Brazil). He has also worked on SDGs and NUA; 1. Testing the relevance and feasibility of measuring targets and indicators for SDG − 11 in 2015 and 2. Monitoring the implementation of the SDGs, especially goal 11, and the NUA, from 2017 to 2019 in seven cities in four continents of the world.
