Mr Lawrence Juku has been in the energy management industry for over 20 years in various positions from utility sector to private sector. He started his career at Eskom where he held various positions across Transmission and Distribution and Generation divisions. He then joined City Power where held various positions in meter reading, metering, and revenue protection and was responsible for the first successful Smart Metering project roll-out at City Power. He has travelled extensively in Africa as Head of Sales for Landis+Gyr Africa responsible sales, technical support and systems also involved in smart meter roll-outs in South Africa at various utilities.
He is currently working for Vodacom as Executive Head – IoT Africa with business focus areas being smart cities, Smart Buildings, Smart Utilities, smart mining, heavy Industries and Smart security sector. He is currently amongst other private and public sector energy and water projects delivering on water smart metering solution for a major Metro in the Eastern Cape driving sustainable water usage.
