Lwandle Mqadi

Lwandle Mqadi is a Responsible Investments and Sustainability Specialist with the Industrial Development Corporation. She leads and supports work being undertaken by the various departments across IDC to give effect to IDC’s ESG, sustainability and development imperatives. She also leads work being undertaken by the IDC on the Just Transition, support the work on portfolio diversification, job creation and other ESG and Sustainability challenges. Lwandle has a PhD in Public and Development Management with a focus on Sustainability Transitions and Planning, MSc Resources Economics and BSc Agriculture. Her career has spanned public and private sector, where she has experience working across Africa, with a career in sustainability spanning more than 2 decades. Previously, she was with Eskom where she led and participated in sustainability risk, adaptation and mitigation strategies and most recently was a programme manager in the Eskom Turnaround and Transformation Office.
