Measurement Process Solutions (MPS), established in 2013, is a 100% black owned small enterprise based in Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa. The company was founded by Tshepo Molefe, a Pr. Eng. who holds a BSc Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town (UCT). MPS’s mission is to provide core quality management solutions to the mining industry.

Tshepo’s experience spans over 18 years in both the mining and engineering consulting sectors, with sampling and laboratory design experience in commodities including but not limited to iron ore, manganese, potash and chrome. His production, technical, management and projects expertise was gained while working as an independent consultant and in various operational positions at businesses including De Beers and Kumba Iron Ore.

MPs’s sampling stations are designed to be compliant to ISO, Theory of Sampling and Metallurgical Accounting standards.  In addition, they have designed sampling and laboratory projects with CAPEX exceeding R 500 million and implemented R 120 million in sampling projects. MPS was one of the initial small and medium enterprises to join Hatch’s enterprise and supplier development (ESD) programme, which supports the transformation goals of South Africa. MPS successfully graduated from this programme in September 2020. During their tenure, MPS played a pivotal role in the successful implementation of key mining and metals execution projects including Iron Bridge, Comilog FEL 4 and the Kumba Iron Ore +43% project and their graduation clears the path for expansion and a new era of long-term sustainable partnerships with Hatch and other consulting and engineering businesses.
