Headquartered in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, Gqeberha, the Coega Development Corporation (CDC) boasts a strategic and operational footprint across Africa. Wholly owned by the Eastern Cape Provincial Government, our vision is to be the leading catalyst for the championing of socio-economic development through the development and operation of the 9 003-hectare Coega Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a transshipment hub and a preferred and leading investment destination in Africa providing competence and capacity for advisory on and execution of complex infrastructure and related projects.  The CDC is the only SEZ operator in South Africa that is an infrastructure implementing agent of choice, appointed to draft Senegal’s Automotive Strategy on behalf of the Senegalese government, develop Norton and Ecosoft SEZs in Zimbabwe, Richard’s Bay SEZ in KwaZulu-Natal, and a logistics base for the Central African Republic, to mention a few. The CDC’s advanced capabilities enable economic zone development and management, real assets management, infrastructure planning and development, technology integration, and skills and SMME development. With a mission to provide competitive investment locations, holistic infrastructure and value-adding business solutions, the CDC is ISO certified in quality management, environmental management, occupational health and safety, IT service management and information management.
