Making a difference
The increasing demands being placed on the agricultural sector requires that we step up to help grow the skills pool, reduce unemployment, promote economic development and drive improved food security in the decades to come. We tackle these issues by revolutionising the teaching and training of agriculture-related subjects in South Africa and beyond.
Building agricultural skills
Our courses are designed with different learning needs in mind and aim to equip students with much needed knowledge and competencies that can be used to bridge the existing skills gaps in the industry.
Our one-year NQF Level 4 National Certificate in General Agriculture gives students the opportunity to develop in-depth skills and experience that are widely recognised across the agricultural sector; while our agricultural short courses enable those already working in the industry to refresh or improve existing skills and gain new ones within a specific focus area.
Through our e-learning platform, you will have access to blended and shared learning opportunities that provide a combination of:
• independent online learning;
• collaboration with course facilitators and other students in the online environment; and
• on-the-ground practical experience at our Practicals Destinations.

Access to the course-work will be through mobile and other devices with connectivity to the internet. Practical training, technical support and online access to course facilitators and consultants are included in the courses. Course consultants will support a maximum of 25 students each to ensure that everyone gets the help and support they need.
Delivering world class education opportunities
Our course-work is being developed to the highest standards in collaboration with relevant subject matter experts. Every feature is crafted to save course facilitators, course consultants and students time and effort and to make teaching and learning easier. The platform provides a complete service that includes registration, payment, automated course administration support, integrated course design, payment processing and more.
Course content
Since 2018 we are offering a number of one-year NQF Level 4 National Certificate Courses as well as various Crop Production and Skills Development short courses.
Course costs
Our online model requires significantly lower infrastructure and maintenance costs compared to traditional universities, while every 25 students will have access to a course consultant who will provide them with the help and support they need. Students will also not have to account for the costs of accommodation close to a physical campus, or travel to lectures each day. At the same time, the flexibility of learning online provides you with the option to work and learn while you earn.
In addition to more affordable course costs, one of our prime objectives is to support those learners most in need with bursaries and scholarships.
Practical exposure
E-learning is ideally suited to distance learning, however, we also understand the need to put theory into practise. Our Practicals Destinations facilitate practical learning opportunities as part of the blended and shared learning programme.
